Managing Director | CEO

As a qualified electrical engineer, Klaus has earned many laurels in the management of numerous software projects in recent years and has supported our customers in digitization. He prefers to spend his free time on the ridges of the Eastern and Western Alps and the Himalayas. He is a passionate mountain rescuer and alpine paramedic.

Chief Financial Officer | Software Engineer

Lucia, who has a degree in computer science and business administration, comes from the beautiful Walsertal valley, just like Klaus. In addition to her work and the mountain rescue service, she is always up for a mountain adventure, and her penchant for the extreme is in her genes, so to speak.

Our second Klaus – known internally as K2 – comes from the Bregenzerwald and, despite his young age, already has many years of experience in software development. He is responsible for requirements engineering, technology, design and architecture. In his private life, he is also often out and about on his bike, skis or rope – the main thing is that it goes up as steeply as possible and back down again.

As ‘Eggar’ (known for his award-winning beer), Fabian has a long commute to work and therefore uses an electric car to save costs. Despite his young age, he already has extensive experience in (web) development, including on mobile devices. He is now continuing his football career in the reserve team after years in the first team.

As a thoroughbred technician, Johannes has many years of experience in software development as well as solid hardware and system knowledge. His communicative and energetic nature is well received by colleagues and customers alike – only on Thursday mornings is he sometimes a little quiet.

Johannes – aka Johnny – supports our team as a software developer, where he puts his knowledge and enthusiasm for technology into practice. In addition to working in front of a keyboard and screen, Johnny likes to spend his free time on the volleyball court or on the beautiful local ski slopes.

Alberto comes from beautiful Galicia and completed his MSc at the University of A Coruña. Having settled in the country for several years, Alberto also maintains good contacts in the Bregenzerwald and successfully contributes his many years of in-depth software knowledge to our projects.

David comes from Raggal and puts the skills he gained during his studies in computer science to excellent use with us. He also likes to work with hardware from time to time. In addition to his involvement in mountain rescue, he boulders and climbs at a similar level to his famous namesake, Mr. Lama.

Assistant

Martina takes care of the big and small things and administrative tasks that arise in the day-to-day running of the office. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dogs and keeps the business running at the Maria Grün guesthouse in Frastanz (editor’s tip!).

Patrick is passionate about his work as a software developer and puts his many years of experience to good use. As well as playing the keyboard, Patrick also likes to rock out on the electric guitar in his band. Patrick also spends a lot of time on sporting activities such as climbing, bouldering, skiing and tennis.

Patrick comes from the Grosses Walsertal, more precisely from Marul. He already supported us in the implementation of our projects during his training. Even then, he was able to develop his potential and has been in high demand as a full-stack developer with strong DevOps know-how ever since. Privately, he spends his time with the fire department.

One of David’s hobbies is programming – where better than with us. He certainly has what it takes. David sometimes swaps the click of the keyboard for the click of the karabiner on a via ferrata.

Simon has gained a wide range of experience in software development and project management in recent years. In addition to his time behind the drums and his enthusiasm for all things technical, he likes to spend a lot of time in nature, for example cycling or hiking.

Florian can already look back on many years in software development. He works on our projects in both the backend and the frontend. In his free time, he enjoys hiking in the mountains and is active in the fire department.

After several years of training in Vienna, our quota Tyrolean settled in beautiful Walgau and met like-minded technology enthusiasts at PHIOS. He prefers to live out his passion for coding in the backend, but he doesn’t shy away from frontend code either. In his free time, he enjoys the mountains. Whether on foot, on a rope or on skis, the main thing is a cold beer when he gets home.

Alex graduated from the HTL Bregenz in the field of automation technology and also realized during this time that he has a great interest in programming. He also enjoys playing pool with friends and loves to play the odd video game now and again.

Jordan grew up in the Grosses Walsertal in the agricultural environment of the farm and alpine pastures. He has played football for SPG Grosses Walsertal from an early age. Young and a sports enthusiast, he has already completed an HTL education in electronics and computer science. He supports the PHIOS team as a software developer in the front and back-end areas. He spends his free time with friends, doing sports, or helping his parents on the farm.

Daniel comes from Ludesch in Walgau. As he has always been enthusiastic about modern technology, he attended the HTL Rankweil, specializing in electronics and computer science. At PHIOS, he is a software developer with a current focus on the backend. He enjoys spending his free time with family, friends and playing sports. Together with Jordan, he plays football in the SPG Grosswalsertal team. He also enjoys listening to music, going to concerts and visiting foreign countries.

David comes from the beautiful village of Plazera in the Grosses Walsertal. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer in summer and skiing in winter. Due to his great interest in computers, David decided at a young age to attend the technical college in Dornbirn with a focus on IT and then graduated from the IT college in Imst. He works in our team as a software developer.

Daniela lives in sunny Satteins (pronounced “Settaas” in the local dialect) and has a degree in business administration with a specialization in business psychology. Her experience in the areas of project management and organization, databases, agile development processes and IT support means that she is in high demand in our projects. In her free time, she likes to exercise in the fresh air, preferably on a mountain bike (without a battery!). However, she would prefer to spend the winter in the tropics or the Caribbean.

As a qualified electrical engineer specializing in computer technology, Stefan is an ideal addition to the PHIOS team. He has gained his diverse practical experience in software development for plant control systems as well as worldwide installations at industrial companies, in the areas of consulting/strategy services, greenhouse gas and energy balancing (consulting and software), and in the energy industry/electricity. In his private life, Stefan enjoys activities with his two children, traveling and sports.

Growing up on Lake Constance in Lochau, Rene came to Nenzing via a detour from Dornbirn and Krumbach in the Bregenzerwald. He therefore already had 3 of the 4 Vorarlberg license plate abbreviations on his car. After graduating from Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, he gained 10 years of professional experience as a software developer at a bank and web developer at a digital agency. In his private life, the young family man can be found on excursions with his family or playing sport.

Efdal, also known as Efe, comes from Dornbirn, but his real home is in Liechtenstein at PHIOS. After graduating from HTL Dornbirn and his enthusiasm for front-end development, he jumped straight into the world of work and started at PHIOS. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym and practicing martial arts.

Gabriel comes from the shoe factory town of Elda in Alicante. Gabriel studied computer engineering at the University of Alicante and would like to develop applications that help other people and give them a better life. He considers himself to be a friendly person who enjoys working in a team and has no problem taking on more responsibility as long as he can get the job done. In his spare time, he enjoys giving chess lessons and getting together with his friends to play Street Fighter and enjoy a good dinner.

Miguel has been working with computers since he was 5 years old, he was practically born with a keyboard in his hand. He was born in Valencia (Spain) and has a passion for working and making everyday things easier through the use of technology, be it at home for himself or for others. If there’s a new Marvel or superhero movie, he’s likely to be at the movies with his friends on release day to avoid spoilers.

Johannes comes from the beautiful town of Röthis (Vorarlberg) and started his career at an automation technology manufacturer in Tosters. During a long stint at a well-known measuring device manufacturer for energy technology, he completed his Master’s degree in computer science at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences. He enjoys working with hardware and needs contact with electrical engineering. In his free time, Johannes enjoys being outdoors. In winter, he rides a splitboard, which elicits a sardonic smile from skiers on the way up, but turns into envious glances on the descent.

Denis comes from the volcanic Canary Islands, Tenerife to be precise. Due to his admiration for economic and technological products, he decided to study software engineering and finally ended up at PHIOS after some time. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer as a goalkeeper, meeting up with friends, having a coffee with something to read and using his days off to travel or discover the infinite corners of Valencia.

Born in the beautiful Bregenzerwald, Kaspar moved to Vienna to study electrical engineering. It couldn’t be a better fit for a man from the forest in Vienna to have landed in the PHIOS team, which is full of people from Vorarlberg and also has an international character. The perfect conditions to get his career off to a flying start. In his free time, Kaspar pursues one thing above all: climbing. Whether on the rock, on ice, with or without a rope, it doesn’t matter to him. The main thing is outside and steep.

Gustavo was born in the hills of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and has always had a keen interest in anything to do with computers. He graduated in Information Systems in 2010 and after six years working in the IT sector in Brazil, he moved to Portugal in search of new adventures. Now Gustavo lives in Valencia and enjoys the culinary delights and outdoor fun the city has to offer.

Human Resource Manager

Marlene comes from beautiful Vienna. She worked there for a long time in social management and corporate communications. She now lives in Switzerland and enjoys country life in the small village of Sax near the border with Liechtenstein. As HR Manager, she is responsible for ensuring that the PHIOS family grows and is available to all employees as a contact person for HR issues. She likes to spend her free time with her son and her family. She likes to keep learning and getting to know new places and people. She enjoys singing karaoke, loves traveling and likes to do yoga to relax.

Assistant

eannine lives in Muntlix, Vorarlberg. She lives in the countryside with her family and enjoys every second with her two little boys. In addition to country life, she loves traveling, whether it’s far away to Australia or a city trip around the corner, Jeannine is always up for it. In Vorarlberg, she enjoys hiking and meeting her friends for a glass of Aperol Spritz. As a team assistant at PHIOS, she is responsible for the well-being of the team. She plans events and meetings and helps with office organization.

Raphael graduated from HTL Rankweil with a degree in electronics and computer engineering and developed a keen interest in programming. He also enjoys programming his own small projects in his private life. In his free time, in addition to programming, he also enjoys riding his mountain bike or spending time with his family or friends.

Benjamin, or simply Beni, comes from beautiful Rankweil. He joined PHIOS as a software developer straight after graduating from high school and works in both the front-end and back-end areas. In addition to the keyboard, he also plays the piano, the saxophone and the hand organ. He spends most of his free time on the computer. Together with his friends, he implements various projects in the field of software development – including the PHIOS toast configurator 😉

Semih graduated from the HTL Rankweil with a degree in electronics and computer engineering. It was there that he discovered his passion for programming. After graduating, he quickly entered the world of work and eventually found his place at PHIOS. In his free time, he enjoys researching various topics and spending time with his family.

Carlos was born in a city near Madrid and after emigrating to Germany, he discovered his vocation as a web developer. Whenever he can, he feeds his creative spirit with new challenges and new cultures. This has led him to have a long list of hobbies, including drums, audiovisual creation and board games. You can always find a few animal hairs on his sweatshirt.

Tobias is a Feldkircher by choice with roots in Nenzing. He discovered his passion for software development quite late in life. He gave up his commercial career after the HAK in Feldkirch to study Medical Informatics at the UMIT in Tyrol. After graduating, he was able to start in the field of web development to offer online photo and large format printing. He then moved on to machine-oriented backend development, where he implemented various projects with customer contact for well over a decade. However, when he realized that he was “atrophying” more and more into a product manager and product owner, he fled to Phios in order to be able to do a little more software development again.

Mikail, or more often called Miki, comes from beautiful Rankweil and successfully completed the HTL Rankweil in the field of electronics and computer science. His passion for software development began after he deepened his school material at home and pursued his own interests in this area. In his free time, besides programming, he also likes to try new things, spend time with his family or end the evening comfortably with a movie night.

Digital & Innovation Officer

Migg never shies away from a challenge, neither professionally nor personally. With his extensive experience, he supports our customers in all aspects of digital transformation and innovation. The IT engineer with management training acts as a link between the digital and real worlds. In his free time, he is active in the ultracycling scene – the guys who ride their bikes for several days at a time with practically no sleep. Migg also appreciates good food and drink as a balance.

Michael moved away from Lower Austria many years ago (although the reasons are still not entirely clear) and found a new home in Mäder. After years of searching, he finally found his dream home and took advantage of the coronavirus lockdown to relocate. With his strong penchant for UI design, his passion is web and mobile app development. This is how he ensures an excellent user experience for our customers time and time again.

Growing up at over 1000m above sea level in the harsh but beautiful surroundings of the Montafon, it was clear to him early on that his future career would have to be in electronics and IT. His experience in production, test equipment construction, hardware and software development covers a very broad spectrum, which he always brings to our projects. In his free time, he occasionally tortures his guitar and likes to go for a ride on his motorcycle.

Sunnyboy Peter from “Dorobiro” always has a cheerful smile on his face and creates a good atmosphere. He performs his role as Product Owner with a great deal of commitment and experience and always manages to form extremely effective project teams. (Almost) nothing upsets him. Only when he can’t strap on his touring skis in winter due to several days of bad weather … that’s when things get critical.

Martin is a computer scientist “from the second hour”. Even though he has narrowly escaped punch cards, he has had to endure many “horrors” in the field of software development and therefore greatly appreciates achievements such as git, SCRUM, unit testing and the convenience of modern programming languages. Thanks to the diverse experience he has gained over the last quarter of a century, he usually has an idea when things get really “crunchy”… or at least an acquaintance who might have an idea. He is particularly enthusiastic when software meets mathematics. Then the odd night or even a family outing is sacrificed on the altar of knowledge.

Ronny discovered an early passion for software development and digitalization and the endless possibilities that the digital world has to offer. While he once wrote line after line of code and was directly involved in the development of software, he has now shifted his attention to the strategic aspects of digitalization. The focus today is on promoting innovation and designing digital products and platforms, mostly based on cloud technologies. Ronny firmly believes that the successful future lies in the skillful combination of innovation, technology, user experience and business strategy.
